The month of November marked a special milestone for the channel that has brought viewers from across the Philippines closer to life’s drama as TeleNovela Channel entered its 12th year on air.
It was back in November 14, 2011 when TNC was first launched with much fanfare as “the first 24/7 telenovela channel in Asia“. It started out with four soap operas, all dubbed in Filipino: La Madrastra (2005), Passion, In The Name Of Love, and The Two Sides of Ana.
By 2013, the channel had transitioned into only featuring telenovelas dubbed in English.
Twelve years later, so much has changed in the broadcasting space but the mission of delivering quality and timeless stories to Filipinos remained the same. In this year alone, TNC brought four fan-favorite telenovelas onto the screen: Mi Pecado, Sortilegio (previously aired in Filipino as Love Spell), Mar De Amor, and Teresa, arguably one of the most genre-defining Mexican soap operas in the past 20 years.
In the digital space, TNC recently overhauled its website to allow for a seamless experience for visitors who want to know more about the channel. In addition, the channel has also boosted its social media presence with the creation of its new Instagram and Threads pages in order to reach its audience. Its Facebook page, as of this writing, boasts a whopping 370,000 likes while its YouTube channel has recently breached the 32,000-subscriber count. The channel is also available for streaming as viewers can watch their favorite telenovelas anytime and anywhere in the country by subscribing to Cignal Play’s Premium Plus tier.
TeleNovela Channel would not have reached this milestone without the support of its most loyal viewers, who have been with the channel through thick and thin, especially at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Thus, this celebration is truly about them.
As a matter of fact, TNC made a call for submissions last October for viewers to submit their greetings through e-mail or through the channel’s Facebook page for a chance to have their entry featured on television.
In addition, its weeks-long anniversary celebration includes getting its online followers in digital platforms engaged with a deluge of content: From community polls on its YouTube channel, for example, to visual collaterals that have tickled viewe’s fancy across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks as TeleNovela Channel prepares to unveil what is to come in the year ahead as it continues to bring you closer to life’s drama.
TeleNovela Channel available on Sky Cable Channel 81, Cignal Channel 126, and other major cable operators in the Philippines. It is also streaming live on Cignal Play Premium Plus.
