	Maria Jose Samaniego
	Actor: William Levy He is intelligent and well educated, brave and daring. He was raised by his father, his step-mother and her two children, not knowing that they are his half-brother and sister. He and Bruno do not get along and, when Alejandro inherits the family business, their relationship becomes even more strained. He is suspicious by nature and doesn’t take long to discover that Maria Jose is not his wife, but they fall in love and she tells him that Bruno tried to have him murdered.

	Actress: Jacqueline Bracamontes A small-town girl; honest, hard-working and gullible. She comes from a poor family. She doesn’t want to become Bruno’s accomplice but does so in order to protect her father. Bruno makes her deceive Alejandro, but she is very upset and filled with remorse. Bruno harasses her and she rejects him. Finally, she cannot stand the pressure and tells Alejandro the truth. They both realize they are in love and must fight for their happiness.
	Bruno Albeniz
	Actor: David Zepeda Well bred, ambitious and self-serving; he is an arrogant bully. He is an obnoxious and selfish hypocrite, sheltered by an over-protective mother. His jealousy and envy drive him to attempt murder against Alejandro, and to use Maria Jose’s love to take over the family fortune. When he learns that Alejandro is his half-brother, he hates him even more. He is ruthless and resorts to threats, blackmail and brute force to get his way.
	Victoria
	Actress: Daniela Romo She is Alejandro´s step-mother but loves him like a son. She is attractive, distinguished, discrete, warm and devoted to her family. Although she never went to college, she is a talented writer. She keeps a secret – that Alejandro’s father is also the father of her other children, Bruno and Raquel. She is kind to Maria Jose until her children fill her head with lies. She falls in love with a younger man named Fernando.
	Raquel
	Actress: Chantal Andere Bruno’s twin sister. She is shallow, insecure and bitter. She is jealous of Maria Jose, talks down to her and turns Victoria against her. She doesn’t love her husband, Roberto, and has taken Ulises as her lover .but is obsessed with Alejandro.
